2022 At Home with CCEF Contest Winners Announced
Each year, the Cherokee County Educational Foundation holds a T-shirt campaign to continue to encourage support, donations, and awareness for the students and staff all over the Cherokee County School District. In the past, we have invited our supporters to submit photos of themselves in their CCEF shirts and hoodies during their summer travels, but over the years the contest has turned into a great way to show off CCEF gear on the road, at home, and everywhere in between!
First Place – Lacy Savage
Lacy is an EIP/ESOL at Free Home Elementary in Canton, GA. Her photo, Jumping into a New Year, received over 1200 votes during the voting period in September! When asked what she plans to do with her first-place prize of $500, Lacy said she wants to purchase realia for her students. Specifically, realia to use during their science and social studies classes. Realia are objects used in everyday life that students can use to connect with concepts taught in their lessons.
Second Place – Lyndsey Hilligoss
Our second-place winner, Lyndsey, is a 2nd grade teacher at Oak Grove STEAM Academy Elementary in Acworth, GA. Her photo, Planting a love for learning, received over 550 votes during September! When asked what she plans to do with her second-place prize of $100, Lyndsey says she wants to continue to add supplies to 2nd grade's pollinator garden and create more flexible seating options for her students. Flexible and comfortable seating can encourage students to spend some time in a comfortable and engaging environment.
We would like to give one more massive congratulations to the winners of the 2022 At Home with CCEF T-shirt contest, and a huge thank you to everyone who participated! We cannot wait to see the impact you make on your classrooms. Make sure to stay up to date with all of our events, fundraisers, and news by subscribing to our monthly newsletter!
