With the first day of Spring taking place last week, now is the perfect time of the school year to take care of some much-needed spring cleaning! Just think about how nice it would be to return to a clean, clutter-free classroom after the Cherokee County School District Spring Break, priming you and your students for a strong finish to the 2023-2024 school year!
Take a Look Around the Classroom
It may seem like the last day of school is extremely far away, but in reality, we only have about eight weeks left until the last day of school! Those hot May days for room cleanout will soon sneak up on us, so take advantage of a little Spring cleaning! Are there materials in your classroom that students won't need for the remainder of the year that you can go ahead and pack up? Maybe there're some supplies that you are able to move into storage until the 2024-2025 school year! Survey your classroom to see if you can make life a little easier come end-of-year
Clear Up Your Workspaces
A cluttered desk makes for a cluttered mind. Throughout all of the hustle and bustle of the new year, by Springtime it's time for your classroom's workspaces to get some attention. Take a moment for yourself to reorganize any stacks of papers or folders and throw out anything you don't need. Get your writing utensils together and maybe take a moment to give your favorite coffee cup a deep clean. Your brain will thank you after Spring break is over!
Organize Papers
Don't be scared to throw away or recycle papers you're not sure you need. Keep all the documents you know you will need next year in your filing cabinet, and be sure to shred documents that have any sensitive information that someone could steal. A terrific way to stay organized is scanning all your documents and saving them digitally! If you don't have quick access to a scanner built into a printer, check out a few options for scanning in documents using your smartphone's camera to save time!
Time for New Beginnings
While the school year may be in its final semester, Springtime is all about new beginnings! So taking the time to clean up and organize your classroom before the summer break will mean less cleaning when we're all racing to get out of school in May!
